Java no longer allows ASDM to launch. The error message is shown as &#8220;This application will be blocked in a future Java security update because the JAR file manifest does not contain the Permissions attribute&#8221;. This problem is fixed by adding a site exception to Java.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>If you are using Windows, start the Java Control Panel (which on my machine is located at &#8220;C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Java\\jre7\\bin\\javacpl.exe&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Once the Control Panel is started choose the &#8220;Security&#8221; tab and click on &#8220;Edit Site List&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/darenmatthews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/ASDM-java.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/darenmatthews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/ASDM-java.jpg\" alt=\"ASDM-java\" width=\"545\" height=\"610\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2052\" srcset=\"http:\/\/darenmatthews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/ASDM-java.jpg 545w, http:\/\/darenmatthews.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/04\/ASDM-java-268x300.jpg 268w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 545px) 100vw, 545px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>in the site list, enter the URL for the Cisco ASA, apply and save.
