Joomla “Permission Denied” Problem

December 1st, 2009

Whenever you upload a template or file anything from joomla admin section or by any other means, it will be having a nobody:nobody permissions as all the installs through the Joomla Admin defaults to apache as the owner and apache uploads the file for you with nobody ownership.

You should install templates, components et al from FTP or File manager so that it has the proper ownership. Files can be installed by the user by ftp, cpanel file manager.

This applies to all the cpanel hosting servers.

Solution is You should install the templates from FTP or File manager so that it has the proper ownership. Files can be installed by the user by ftp, cpanel file manager. If you have uploaded it through a script, then you need to contact support to correct the ownerships.
